MUSICAL BIOGRAPHY -

Eddy Zitro a/k/a Eduardo Mario Ortiz was born in Mar Del Plata, Argentina in 1955.  He immigrated to the Washington DC area in August of 1960. While growing up in a culturally diverse neighborhood Eddy was exposed to music from many different counties. " My parents were avid dancers and music was often played around the house. I was exposed to tangos, classical , ethnic folk , jazz , country western on a weekly basis"..  Eddy started playing the guitar and taking music lessons at the age of 14. By the age of 15 he had learned to read music, which helped him at the age of 16 land a gig as the only guitarist in an eleven piece orchestra that would perform gigs by reading music charts called " Mike Saurat and The Continentals" which played many Polkas and Ethnic Folks. " I remember my father taking me half way around the 495 Beltway twice a week to make rehearsals and gigs on weekends"... During this time Eddy was also learning classical guitar and was listening to Elvis Presley,  the Beatles. Then eventual as the years pasted by Eddy started becoming influenced by Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, Yes, Frank Zappa, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, The Allman Brothers and the rest of what is now considered to be classic rock bands of the 70"s. During this time Eddy was also being exposed a multitude of great blues and jazz artist.... Eddy played in a variety of cover bands in the 70's -80's, and eventually  was getting more work as a studio musician, which ultimately led Eddy to build his own recording studio and write and record his own music. And with the advent of the internet he can now offer his music to the world.
